Connecting cultures. That’s my primary role as a serial entrepreneur in Japan. I’ve been called an angel investor, not just because of the funds I invest, but because of the knowledge and opportunities I provide and the people I bring together from Japan and the international community as an American living in Tokyo.

I first came here off-and-on in the ‘90s and then returned for good in 2004, first as an MBA trainer/application consultant and then as a business language school owner. Parallel to that, I provide discounted office space in the Aoyama neighborhood of Tokyo where businesses can create digital media content in a variety of languages and professional fields. The office space is an incubator for a diversity of idea development and a great place for local and international business-minded people to cross paths and meet and chat.

Here in Japan, it’s rare that the two cultures interact in founding businesses. I make that happen. My target connections are: internationally-minded Japanese professionals who speak English and have already been abroad, and foreign nationals already in Japan who love the culture and enjoy working/living here

I work with both groups as a co-creator of value. I have the professional connections, the physical space, and the social skills to connect investors from abroad with businesses and start-ups here in Japan.
